Hazel joins Uncle Peter's Band...

Hazel likes to jam with Uncle Peter. They're working together on some new material, but in the meantime you can check out Uncle Peter's 'MySpace' page and hear some of his great songs.

Eating keeps getting better and better!

The variety of food making up Hazel's diet continues to grow. She has recently added yogurt, cottage and cheddar cheese, kiwis, toast, grapes, and pasta. The quantity is also growing. She eats about 5 meals a day with more and more going in each time. Wouldn't it be nice if we could all eat 5 meals a day and still weigh only 18 pounds?!

Kitchen = Playroom

Everybody knows the kitchen is a fun place. Meals are prepared and eaten there, but more importantly it's filled with so many interesting things. There are spatulas, spoons, potato mashers, and lots of pots and pans.

The most recent kitchen utensil-turned-plaything is the salad spinner. It's got a lot of things going for it, it's orange, it spins, it makes noise when it spins, it's got lots of parts, and you can put stuff in it. Very few of Hazel's 'designer' toys can compare.

Standing ....

Standing up and cruising along furniture and tables is easy, but Hazel has to have a reason to do it. Remote controls, stuffed birds, and her drumstick are generally important enough to warrant the effort.

I'll stand for a remote control... or a stuffed bird. Posted by Picasa

Gee this book is good!!

Here is Hazel at 11 months old, enjoying one of her favourite books... she can't quite read it out loud yet, but we know she's reading every word!!

Hazel now walks a few steps while holding on to furniture. She can go up any flight of stairs in 20 seconds if she thinks you're racing her. She loves to eat with her fingers, or with her fork when you put something on it for her. She loves to play her drum, or her 'trumpet', and will seek out and knock down any tower (made of blocks) within a 10 mile radius.

She likes to clap her hands, and can say 'done' when she's finished eating. Hazel is very happy, still has 8 teeth, and loves to throw things over the balcony to the hallway below.

Gee... being 11 months old sounds pretty good.

Our own little playgroup...

Here are Hazel, Rupert and Chloe, sampling some of Hazel's tastier toys during one of their fun afternoons together... (Hazel's friends belong to Sophie and Justin and were born only 4 days before Hazel!)

This one tastes good too! Posted by Picasa

Carnegie Hall here I come!! (okay, no pressure...)

Here is Hazel playing piano, taking after her many relatives in the Music Biz. The original Hazel (mommy's cousin) is a music teacher, another cousin Susan is a Jazz Singer, Hazel's own Uncle is a professional musician, her mommy sings, her Aunt Erika plays guitar and her mommy's mommy was also a wonderful singer (and many others have musical talent too!!)!! Well, she does seem to like it... she now crawls over to the piano, and pulls herself up so she can reach the keys and play!!
